Hello Blog! — Keely & Thomas

I have never been an avid writer. English was certainly not my favorite subject in school and 10-year-old Keely would have NEVER thought I would be voluntarily writing anything in my free time. But here I am! I might not love writing, but I do love photography.

Photos have always been very special to me. I’ve spent so many hours pouring over our family photo albums and remembering people and events in my life. When I got my first point and shoot I documented EVERYTHING. Every time I got together with my friends, family outings, even my chickens! I might not take 95 pictures every time I play croquet at my grandma’s house anymore, but I still love getting to capture moments to help remember the little things in our lives.

In 2017, I decided I wanted to start seeing the world so I booked a trip to the Alps. That trip completely changed my life. I mean, the Alps were amazing and I would recommend you book a trip to Switzerland if you haven’t been there yet, but the real take away for me was meeting Thomas. On day two, he invited himself along to dinner with my sister and me and we pretty much hung out the rest of the trip. He carried his camera around on all the hikes, was always up for gelato, and he had phone service over there- so I could pretend the reason I was always following him around was to use his GPS (which honestly did help me out- a lot!). Of course, we stayed besties even after the trip and started dating a few months later. :)

After I started dating Thomas, who was a wedding/portrait photographer, taught photography workshops, and owned a studio (I know right?! Can you tell why I fell for him?), we decided we’d love to work together. Can you think of anything better than doing your dream job with the person you love the most? We couldn’t either! So we started Keely & Thomas LLC this past summer. And we can’t wait to see where it takes us!
